Is it spring yet?

Hanako paused, making a show of thinking about it. She'd say whatever was needed to win the Warlord's approval but she knew that she'd have to back up her words sooner or later. Azure said he'd look after her but it was clear that she couldn't expect him to do all the work either. In all honestly she didn't like the idea of fighting, she'd seen her Keepers get into vicious fights and it had been well and truly awful, so bad that she couldn't even bear to look. What if someone attacked her, would the Warlord expect her to defend herself with just as much savagery? She wanted to insist that she could be of use in other ways but knew it'd set a bad precedent, that she'd be burning the bridge before she even had a chance to cross.

Besides, he only asked if she was willing to learn. If he deemed her no good then surely he'd want to give her another role more suited to her talents. Maybe she could learn the art of healing or hunting, those roles didn't sound as bad.

"I am." She nodded, resolute. Keeping it short and sweet this time, just to prove how serious she was.
