Natha loped behind the wolves, moving swiftly and silently as was the nature of her kind. She was panting as they went. Wolves were built more for endurance than the lynx and none of them had such an impressive winter coat to shed. She paused a few times to scratch loose a clump of winter fluff until she finally felt better. Bounding forward in graceful leaps she was quick to catch up.
The arrived at the lake, morning still fresh and sleepy, the sun just starting to rise. Thick bands of clouds streaked through the sky and in the distance she could see a storm rolling lazily up from the south.
