The girl hissed as hot welts raised on her flesh.

Morts spread wings didn't phase her. She saw him all the time. She knew he had wings. Dropping to her belly, she intended to duck under the wing. If successful, Asla would throw herself onto her back and give Mort a kick to the gut with all four paws.
