The tussled and fought when suddenly the youth beneath him rotated sharply and Aureus fell back, suddenly cut loose from his opponent. At first he wasn't aware that anything had gone seriously wrong. He was simply confused how he had a hold on his opponent and his opponent had had a hold on him, so had he suddenly been flung off? He was dimly aware that his right paw felt oddly wet and that was when it hit him that he was missing two of his toes. The suddenly realize brought nausea crashing over him as pain lanced through his head like lightning. He could barely think and swiftly sucumbbed to unconsciousness.

With a hiss and snarl Kali quickly put himself between the youth and Aureus, grabbing his wolfen friend by the scruff and dragging him off the battlefield.
