Cry Havoc

Eligos' lip lifted in a silent snarl as Zee spoke, as though trying to justify what they were doing with her insulting explanation. Fury crystallized in sharp-edged ice in his chest. Flanking him, Cypher and Kida stopped their fidgeting and went still, identically incredulous and hurt expressions on each of their still-puppyish faces. "That's bullying," Cypher said plaintively, a puppy-like sense of betrayal clear in his voice at the injustice. "I thought you were nice. Kida just gave an angry, screechy salvo of barks as though to deny the small alpha's words. Eligos laced his ears back and stared Zee down, not even bothering to hide his furious disgust. If that is what you think is going to happen from this," he snarled, "Then you are worse than a fool." But he wouldn't bother to debate further - whether she'd agreed or not, despite her nice-nice act she'd gone along with this. She was directly complicit into this dishonorable, cowardly debacle. Her explanation of their reasoning made it somehow worse than if Aerie had simply had something they desperately needed, rather than their overly prideful need to crush any theoretical future resistance.

She must have been equally certain of her inability to convince him of her righteousness, because she charged for him. Kida, with a furious roar that didn't sound like it could have come from that small body, leaped even as Zee moved, her fangs aimed overtop Zee's nose, attempting to grip the top of the muzzle and the nose itself and let her momentum carry her in front of the alpha in an attempt to jerk it to Zee's left. Eligos pivoted towards Zee's side behind Kida, dropping into a crouch and ducking his head as the toucan's claws scratched at his pinned ears, and as he brought his head back up and pushed upward and forward with his coiled limbs he sought to slam the sharpened ridge of his helmet on the underside of her chest, right behind her right elbow, attempting to lift her off her forelegs and throw her to her left side as well as allow the helmet's ridge to open a severe laceration there.
