The beettalion (seasonal)

Hanako's nose twitched as she was hit by a wave of deja vu. The scenery was different but the smell was undeniably the same: the sweet, syrupy scent of honey. She licked her lips as her stomach rumbled, last time she hadn't even tried to steal a taste but it this time it'd be different. She'd do better, be more determined and would even give that bear she'd met earlier some too! Just because he'd asked so nicely, after all how could she say no to such a well dressed gentleman? Regardless of her intentions she had a sinking feeling that she didn't have the skill or wits to do it alone. The wind picked up, practically stuffing the smell down her nose as if to lure her forward and deeper into the orchard. Then a bee buzzed past her ear and Hanako narrowed her eyes with laser focus, her resolve became as solid as stone. She wouldn't let the bear down, no sirree!

Tipping her head back, Hanako let out a chirpy howl in an open invitation to anyone who wanted to join her. As she howled her voice grew deeper as she added the promise of spoils, insisting that it would be worth their time and effort. She'd never asked strangers for help like this before but her call had been pretty damn persuasive, if she did say so herself.

And then not long after they emerged from between the apple trees; two wolves, one black and white and the other grey. Hanako wagged her tail in greeting but said nothing, as the scent that wafted into their noses spoke volumes. There was a treasure up ahead, they just had to work together to find it.
