His shoulder barely clipped the other man's shoulder, leaving his charge less effective than he intended, but could still leave a bit of bruising for the both of them none of the less. It also got him close enough to get the hold on the man's scruff so he held tight to that as a small victory and the beginning of what he hoped would be his dominance in this fight. His opponent was quick and didn't hesitate in landing his own attacks though and Ulric didn't react fast enough to stop him from biting the point where his neck and shoulder met. Ulric winced a bit, but pushed past it so he could keep up the slight momentum he had created.
He held tight to the man's scruff while attempting to give a hard shove with his left shoulder that should still be pressed to the other man's shoulder from his original shove. At the same time he reached with his left paw for his opponent's left paw as well in an attempt to pull it out from under him. He did all of this while tugging on his scruff in hopes of pulling him off of his feet. Even though Ulric was a good bit larger than the other man in height and build, he still wasn't a lightweight by any means so he wasn't sure he would actually be able to pull him completely off his feet, but perhaps he could at least stagger him a bit and knock him off balance.
