Tyrian slowly picked along the shoreline with no real goal in mind. His efforts to stay busy at home had stalled today so he had ventured outside the pack in search of something to occupy himself with. He was hoping for inspiration; something to spark a flame of creativity in him and motivate him to fix or improve upon some aspect of himself, the pack or their livestock keeping methods. Anything, really. He just wanted something to work on and while he was certain of Fireside’s prowess there was always room for improvement.
He kicked at a rock and sent it skipping across the calm water. His eyes followed its movements and he counted the skips absently. One...two...three - and it sank. Not bad for minimal effort. When it came to skipping stones he definitely wasn't a pro. Tashi, his langur companion, could get six skips with minimal effort and many more if he actually tried. But that was primates for you. Tyrian envied their dexterous limbs. If he had thumbs and shoulders that moved out like that he would have been unstoppable.
The young king picked up another small, flat stone and crouched down in preparation of a throw. His shoulder may not have moved like Tashi's but his neck did. Maybe he could learn to throw it well with his jaws...
