I'll Rise Up
Dunkan

As Dunkan talks, Meadow nods her understanding about keeping her balance in check. She takes a few moments to try some small adjustments, moving her legs closer in or further out until she finds the right stance. Sinking her weight down into her legs, allowing the muscles to coil and tense, Meadow feels like this is the most powerful posture for any attack with her small frame. “Okay, this feels like the best stance for me.” She says as looks to Dunkan for acknowledgement. Holding the pose for a few minutes, getting to know the feel for ever muscle involved, she forces herself to remember how this feels and the position of her paws right now.
Once it is burned into her memory, she stands up, allowing her body to relax as Meadow asks her next question. Listening with great respect to the warrior, she nods her understanding. Taking the information in and storing everything that she is learning for later use. Face, neck, ears, she mentally marks these as her first choices when attacking. Meadow does not want to hurt anyone unnecessarily but, if it comes down to it, she will hurt any wolf that attacks her or anyone she loves. Although she is small, she will take down anything that threatens those she cares about.
Listening intently as he speaks about being attacked head-on, Meadow again nods her understanding. Watching when Dunkan shows her how to shift her stance so that the attacker would take damage as well, she mirrors his moves, adjusting the stance until it is comfortable for her. After a few moments she returns to a neutral, standing position and asks, “Okay, I will try not to lose my balance. But, if I do fall and find myself on the ground, what should I do? Do I curl into a ball to protect my stomach or try and kick the wolf in the face? What is the best and quickest way to get back to my paws?” She wants to be ready for any circumstance that might arise.
