With the young wolf on board, Resin nodded. He crept off and she did as well. Birds weren't terribly smart. Yes, they were clever at times, but they had nothing on wolves. She had already killed the swan. Now she grabbed it by the neck and placed it at the center of the clearing, not trying to hide her appearance from the birds up above. They were too distracted with one another anyway. With her sharp teeth, Resin ripped open the body cavity of the swan, laying it open like a feast for the black birds above. Only then did she hide herself in the brush. If she took one condor and the other wolf took the second, they could get this done with quickly. Hunkered down in the brush, she waited for the giant black bird to come down for their free meal. After a time, stirring in the branches above brought Resin's sulfur eye upwards. The birds had noticed their meal. One leaped from the branch, circling downwards to land upon the carcass. They only had to wait for the second. "Speech" |
