The boy's mother agreed that he could join the hunt but she would not be joining. It was strange to think that a mother might allow its child to go off with a stranger with the intent to kill things, but she simply nodded. Resin needed the child if she wanted to get the most out of this hunt.

Fixing her gaze on Ulfr, the giantess explained what she had in mind. "There are birds out there in the long grass. All you have to do is run fast and make them fly. I'll catch them in the air." Not wanting to deny the boy an opportunity for a new experience, she continued. "Once we catch one or two, we can change places and I'll let you try to catch one in the air, deal?" Resin case a sidelong glance at Valdis, making sure that she was okay with the plan as well.
