It was one of the first, if not the first places she would stop and take a rest. It was pretty enough and the girl wasn't one to ignore a beautiful scenery. Even though it was daytime, she could only imagine how gorgeous this lake would appear at night. Assuming things went well, she would be able to see. Either way wherever she was was much better than where she lived before.

New things excited her. They whet her sense of adventure, for something new. Back in her old lands people so desperately wanted to believe that that was all there was. That that was how it had to be because there wasn't much else to settle for. But she knew deep in her young heart that the world was so very big and so very diverse. There was no way it was as small as they tried to make her believe. There was no way she would let herself be trapped there. There was also no quarrel when she left, no one would miss her anyways.

Asteria would rather face death that face a repetitive and docile future. So far she hadn't met death in any manner. The young wolf did well enough on her own, providing for her needs whenever necessary. Hunting was hard at first, she certainly wasn't the best but she got enough to get by. That was fine for now, besides she was never on the stockier side. Growing up she was often called out on her lankiness and slim build. People like to shame her for being so thin, not that she cared. In her mind she was perfect as is, growing up a little more did put some meat on her bones. She filled out to her legs a little more and didn't look so skinny.

A black muzzle would poke out through the bushes, nostrils flaring as she inhaled all the scents. Nothing of major danger anyways. As far as she was concerned she was alone. Bringing her body out of hiding she would walk to the water and gently lap at it before laying on the bank.
