Odette had forgotten that the sand had completely consumed her, so when she moved to greet the strange pup, it looked as if she was a ghost from Halloween. When he began to growl and get upset, she wondered why he was acting in such a way. It was then that she looked down, saw the sand still consuming her body, and a soft gasp escaped her tiny lips. She looked back up, shook all over, then made sure that none could get in her eyes. Odette was now exposed, fur and all, from the sand.
She continued to walk towards the pup, closing the distance between them in a skinny minute. Odette was excited as his expression and attitude changed before he answered her question. Her ears perked at his answer and she had a tender look of sympathy in her eyes. "Well, as long as you are okay with being lost, then I suppose I don't need to call my parents for help." Boy, she sounded like a resourceful one, didn't she? If she ever had a problem, she could call either adult and not have a problem getting a straight solution. That's the thing about being a child with a loving family - you didn't have to worry about being left in the dark.
Curiosity continued to rise in Odette as she looked over the stranger. She didn't know who he was as a person or whom he belonged to, but she didn't mind the surprise company. "Where did you come from?" she asked bluntly, tail wagging behind her puppy frame. "I haven't seen you around before. Where's your mama? And my name is Odette - what's yours?" She had yet to improve with her social skills, it seemed.
