Learning the land

It was time Naiche knew the area surrounding the pack territory better. He had followed Sirius here from the weeping woods so this time he headed towards the border but would make his way east. His stride was long and sure through the tall grass up until he reached the border of the pack turf. The wind gently blew through the young's wolf coat, sniffing the air he scented no signs of trouble nor rain and the breeze felt nice as it ran across his coat. The grass still had that spring softness to it, not having to face the fierce summer heat.

Once he had reached the border he would stop to pay more attention to the scent and the view. He would need to memorize this till it was second nature. The lean wheat colored wolf made his way east pausing at times to soak in the terrain, and determining nearby life. His ears were up straining for any sound, and while this walk was to just learn the territory, it was wise of course to also make sure he heard any trouble before it came into sight.

Naiche was use to roaming from place to place and there was a part of him that wanted to stride out even further, to see what would be just beyond his senses reach now. It was easy enough to remind himself he still had more new territory to get use to and hardly needed to look beyond this portion of land. So he continued his pace to the east watching that he never cross more than a few strides of the pack's border line.
