Short Round, the purple tinted badger, helped Indigo dig a deep hole. The boy had a mission. He wanted a willow tree in his garden.. or rather outside his garden, just like aunty Iolaire. He had a vision of his beautiful willow tree weeping over a small fish pond. He didn’t have a pond or a tree yet, but he wanted both. For new he was working on the pond. Short was an incredible digger, much better than Indy was. The two of them made a good team though, and maybe after a lot of packed earth, and perhaps some packed clay, his hole in the earth would start to fill with water.

Eventually he might be able to find some nice fish and aquatic plants to put in his little pond. Already dreams of lilly pads floated through his mind. The boy was smiling softly as he worked in the warming sun, his thoughts on a bright future as well as a wonderful present. Having Meadow around to help him with his garden was a better deal than he’d ever expected. Indy loved her, and he was glad to share the plot of land with the bright fae.

The boy leaned back onto his haunches and surveyed what they’d done, and he was nowhere near as far as he thought they’d be. Indigo sighed softly to himself, proud of Round but wishing they were further on.
