what a joy

Poem grinned as Suspense rolled out of the den towards her. Out of all of them the older girl felt most protective of her tiny sister. She reminded her of Verse, and how close they had been growing up. She felt a pang of sorrow for her lost sibling and the events leading up to her disappearance. Poem had been so caught up in finding Motif that she hadn’t even realized Verse had needed her too. The past couldn’t be helped though, and Poem was determined to keep her siblings from suffering a similar fate. She’d be there for them no matter what. She haad to be, she had to do better this time.
Poem lowered herself onto her haunches and spread her arms so that Suspense could crush into her belly and wind up in a loving embrace. She could hardly believe how small she still was, especially compared to her siblings. Her size only endeared her further to Poem, that and her inability to pronounce her name completely correct. She didn’t mind that at all.
”Hello, Suspense.” She greeted the young pup with a smile when she aimed to grab hold and hug her tight. ”Do you want to come play with me? I have new clay! Maybe we could make gifts for grandmother Rhythm?” Poem suggested sweetly.
