The queen gave a shrug of her small shoulders in response, her teeth digging into the inside of her cheek as she waited and watched the border. Trust caused pain, she knew that now. Even before the betrayal she'd found her circle of friends to be very, very small. Her husband, her sister, Tamsyn, Odette. The others were family, though not someone she'd share secrets or pain with. Even her handmaiden took seasons to build her trust, and as soon as Zee had admitted her problem and her need for help, she had vanished.
Her ears fell flat and she cast a glance sideline to the warrior woman before returning it to the distant trees. "What happened to Io's father?" She asked quietly. Had their relationship ended in death, betrayal, or something else? Zee was not convinced she was ready to put her heart into another wolf's paws, but knew she'd be grateful for the distraction. To busy her paws she pulled the drink closer, taking a cautious sip of it's warmth before passing it back between them.
