The pup finally released her and pranced up to her, asking what a leech was. "A leech," she said, with ghoulish relish, "is a big, bloodsucking parasitic worm that releases an anesthetic when it bites you so you can't feel it there, and then drinks your blood until it's fat as a big, bloodfilled slug." She grinned a particularly toothy grin, then slanted her muzzle down at the kid as she winked at him. "So what are you up to, Slug? Been keeping up on your fight skills so you can join the festival spars? Gotta show those other packs that we know how to train up our fighters from the den and all."
