He was quick to find her gaze in retort to her assumption of Hanako, though Venom had no evidence beyond her own experience she did not dismiss her first impression. Azure could try to convince her, and his general avoidance was enough to placate the both of them for now. Hana would have to prove herself if Venom was going to believe Azure’s claim. Perhaps she was wrong, but she doubted it. Her brows raised in question, but she didn’t want him to elaborate. His own frustration was palpable as he turned away. ”I wouldn’t lie to you, Prince Azure.” She whispered softly, not asking for a fight but to reassert her belief, and her opinion of the wolf in question. She didn’t matter though, and they had much bigger matters to attend.
She didn’t stop speaking and as the words fell she stopped him on a dime. Azure froze and for a moment time halted. Venom wasn’t sure about many things, and he’d given her plenty of reason to doubt him and yet here she was confessing this to him. He was young, but so was she and the number of wolves she could truly trust could be counted on a single paw. Her own brother and sisters had abandoned her. This would be an Empire for the Klein name no more, merit and strength would rule here.
The young prince turned around towards her and returned his surprised reply, like he hadn’t considered what heights were truly at his disposal. She’d felt his power when he’d pinned her in the sand, she’d seen men come and go in her mother’s life. Venom didn’t want that. ”I don’t want to be my mother.” She confessed softly, taking her turn in averting her gaze from his features. ”If you’re to be my strength and shield,” Venom spoke softly, shyly returning her rose lavender gaze to his features. ”I want you as my equal.” He wasn’t as near to his full maturity as she was and already he easily overpowered her. His strength was obvious but it was his loyalty she really wanted.
”There aren’t very many wolves I trust, Azure.” Venom made another deep confession to him. He was young, but he held so much potential. In the last season he had changed so much, and she could only argue for the better. ”You're one I'd want to raise an Empire with.” She aimed to find his features with her gaze once more. He was strength, protection, and he possessed a hardness that Venom couldn’t quite reach. She wanted Azure as her rock and foundation, though she hadn’t realized it fully until now. "My missing piece." The cornerstone to her future.
