He had promised Naiche a companion, and the man had shown indecision in exactly what he wanted. For that reason, and others, he decided to bring the man with him to his meeting with the trader. The man he often went to for these sorts of things had set himself up with a small travelling menagerie. He bred, trained, and studied strange and interesting creatures. Sirius had done favours for him, and exchanged useful artifacts, food, and supplies, for companions. It was early evening by the time he and Naiche arrived at the traders current residence. They passed by a few creatures, some in cages, some picketed to the earth. “Anything catch your eye? Why don’t you take a look around” he suggested, as he himself angled towards the trader. |
