As they arrived Naiche was impressed by the large variety around them of potential animals, numerous ones appeared they could be used for fighting. A lot of things had caught his eye, but more as curiosity than a desire to claim it. A silent nod at Sirius suggestion and Naiche took to a slow walk around the cages and picketed animals. Plenty of the animals he recognized even if he didn’t see them commonly, but a few were new surprises.
Naiche made his way around the options pausing a time or two before stopping to look at a bizarre species he had not encountered previously. The creature was one of those picketed instead of in a cage and appeared to have been sleeping. It was scaly like a lizard but didn’t have the reptile scent to it. The oddity woke up and when it raises its head Naiche saw skin underneath. It had a long but then head that moved into that bulkier body and then a long tail.
Certainly it had excellent defensive in a fight but it seemed relatively puny. The little thing stood up on just its hind legs and Naiche had to reconsider his estimate of it. Standing it was likely around 2ft or so in height but that wasn’t what impressed Naiche, it was the size of the claws on 3 of the 5 digits that looked positively dangerous should it cut into something. The tail reminded him of a scaly version of Tamsyn’s lemur, and the claws were certainly sharp enough for climbing. It’s eyes seemed unfocused suggesting it saw the world in some fashion besides normal sight.
The pangolin and Naiche seemed to be sizing each other up in silence. Naiche approved of silence. Looking back to Sirius and the trader, “What is this thing? It can climb I assume, and would it fight?” Certainly it had a solid defense and the claws would do damage but that didn’t mean it would do so.
