Cover up the poison with poetry

From the way Azure stiffened up Hanako couldn't help but feel as though she'd overdone it, pushed too hard too fast, and forgotten her place. She'd been about to pull back and apologise, to fall back on propriety and ask for forgiveness but as he hugged her back her fears melted away. Receded to the back of her mind as though they'd never existed at all. Hanako knew that Azure was in every way a Fatalis, a strong and capable warrior, but when he held her close like this it seemed so far removed. As though she'd managed to steal away one part of a whole, the soft and caring side that few ever got to see. Perhaps she was selfish, coveting Azure as though he was some shiny bauble to be stashed away in her little box, but from what she could tell he seemed to like the attention. If anything Hanako had come to realise that their relationship was a two way street, as superficial as it sounded they both had something to gain from the other. Hanako got the affection she craved and Azure got his princely validation. All was well between them, or so she thought.
Hanako tipped her head in confusion as Azure pulled away. She watched him for a moment, her lips twisting at the corners as the mood in the den took a nose dive. It couldn't have been something she'd said or done since he'd been so happy with her just a moment ago, sure she knew that emotions could be fickle things but Azure didn't mark her as the volatile sort. Instead of questioning him she simply followed suit, folding herself down on the newly laid furs as her ears swung forward to listen. His question was an odd one, so strange in fact that she blinked in obvious surprise, her attentive expression dropping like a pebble to the bottom of a pond.
"Of course. What about them?"
