She slept lightly these nights. She knew Kefka was escaping the bubble she placed him in. As devious as she was, she knew he was dangerous. And maybe that was a reason she pulled him away from Kaine and from the Abraxas and kept him away from everyone. No. She didn't want to live that life as much as she loved Kaine. She couldn't use Kefka as an excuse out of the mistakes she had made. She heard the rustling in the grasses outside the den and wouldn't take even a moment to think of what could be outside because she knew. Her body rose and her joints hurt from the day. She was growing too old to care for Kefka but she couldn't find someone to entrust him with. She needed someone that could hold him back and keep him in line. But it was impossible to find a suitor. He was dangerous to everyone and no one else could handle him. As she saw his large figure crossing the plains through the light of the fireflies and would immediately sprint in his direction. "Hey!" She shouted but her voice quieted as she neared him, "Where do you think you're going?" Her voice stern as a mother should be. She never felt bad for scolding him, it was for the good of everyone. |
