Laying Low in the Shadows {Alena}

Dempsey almost didn't listen to the ivory female when she started to talk again, but when she mentioned that her pups would have no father his mouth dropped slightly. She had just found his emotional soft spot. He prayed to God no one ever found his physical one, though Aspasia may be coming close. As a pup, Dempsey's father had been cruel and demanding, and he had not gotten any better as the brute had matured.

He had always felt as if his father had not wanted him and that he was worthless and a piece of dirt. That was one reason he looked to female comfort more often than most wolves. He knew in that moment that they appreciated him for something he was good at. It was a sad comparison to be sure, but they never did turn him away or tell him they disapproved so how bad could it be?

His mind flashed forward a little to seeing these little pups growing up fatherless. He imagined the boys trying to figure out why they weren't good enough, and the girls not understand anything about the wills of men and how to protect themselves from idiots like himself. A shudder ran down his spin. Finally, he brought his platinum eyes back up to Alena. He scowled at her for a minute. Why would she ever go about bringing pups into this world with no father?

But then his eyes softened and he smiled a bit at her. The heat was unbearable he had heard. He had even helped out a few females in that position before, but usually he used his mouth if he wanted to refrain from having pups with the femmae. This brute must have just been that big of an idiot. So far he had nothing to do, besides Aspasia, and having a family to look after so the pups didn't have his emotional scares wouldn't be that bad would it?

"My heart goes out to your family Alena," Heart? What heart? "I have no home right now, no goals in life at the moment, and would like to make you an offer. If you agree to satisfy my needs, whether that be food or primal. I will help you raise your pups and act as a father figure to them." He knew it was low to ask such a thing from a pregnant woman, but Dempsey wanted something out of this deal after all. Plus he had to admit that she was pretty.
