Tamsyn frowned as she listened to Naiche describe some of their members as "cowards" and that they "don't wish to improve themselves." She had heard from Rhona that Naiche had been a bit... stern with her when they met, but Tamsyn really hadn't thought much of it and had just assured her sister in law that the wheat colored wolf hadn't meant any ill will by it. Now she was seeing first hand how his mind was working and how he was approaching the situation which made her concerned about the idea of him training others. Not everyone came to the Armada ready to fight, but that didn't mean that they couldn't learn or even that they wouldn't. She appreciated his desire to have the entire pack ready and willing to defend it, but not everything in life had to be about fighting. She settled on her haunches and gave the would-be warrior a stern look. She wasn't sure what the best way to get through to him was, but the only thing she could do was use herself as an example. She wasn't angry in her tone, but she was firm and very clear that she disagreed with his thinking. "When Zee found me, I was moments away from throwing myself off of a cliff because I didn't know that there was a better option. I was kept up by nightmares every night from memories from my previous life and I was just so exhausted and lost that I thought that was the only way to escape it. Zee found me and convinced me to come here instead. I wasn't ready to train or fight right away, but Sirius had patience with me and showed me that it was possible for me to learn and defend myself. He gave me a purpose bigger than myself to work toward and that saved my life... but I hadn't been ready for that right away. It took a lot of time and patience, on his end and with myself, to get to this point. If he had been following your logic I wouldn't be sitting here right now." Tamsyn paused for a moment, watching his face as she let him absorb that information, hoping perhaps she might be able to get through to him. He was rough around the edges, but she really did see a good bit of potential in him so she hoped that his potential wouldn't be wasted because of his harsh, idealistic ideas. "Now, if they are given time and the opportunity to better themselves and they still refuse to do anything to help the pack then that is a different story - but it's also not your job or responsibility to force those wolves to train. All you can do is provide them the tools and the encouragement to use them. If they don't follow through with that then it's Sirius' job to deal with that issue. However... I think you'll have a hard time finding anyone in this pack that isn't willing to better themselves. Sirius is a good judge of character and is very up front with what he expects of his wolves." |
