Really? No apology? He had been the disappointing one? What. A. Fucking. Joke. The boy sneered, his lip peeling away from one large white fang for a moment. She was infuriating. Where in the hell was his mother? Had she fully abandoned them? She surely hadn't been much of a presence during his life. His father had been there even less. The boy had raised himself. He felt as though he had raised Siren too. Yet here this bitch was, saying that he was a disappointment.

"How am I to dispute a report given if I'm not aware of what was reported?" If she wanted to be tedious, he could be tedious as well. Still he didn't break her gaze, staring hard into her magenta eyes with his own cold, mismatched pools. When she stopped beating around the bush, they could get into the heart of the matter.
