Letting you all down

Torin had let it stew for a few days, roving over his options as the days went on but he knew where his heart was. Lirim had been his passion, he'd spent so long agonizing over his role in the pack and anxiety over his ability to lead the pack in the wake of his family and Frost and now... well now he knew what was most important to him. His wife and son.

But he knew that meant he had to let down his pack one last time. His kids had been told of course but he'd been unable to bear telling Kairi before he made his official choice. She was the last connection to their parents he had and he was worried she'd finally join them all in being disappointed in him, but his wife and child were more important to him than anything else anymore. That didn't make what he was about to do any easier.

Torin settled himself in a clearing and tipped his head back to call for his pack to convene, one last time.
