Indigo refused to give the thoughts much more effort because he was reminded of his father and his forbidding the affection that he wanted to show his sister. He shifted slightly at the pain in his heart as he aimed to nuzzle into her soft chocolate fur as she hugged him back. He shut his eyes tight as he banished the pain from his heart and relaxed into Rue.

He held her tight as he spoke, ”I need you too, Rue.” He whispered in admittance, though he didn’t know that he was ready to explain further. ”Take your time, I want you to join me when you’re ready. Until then, I’ll keep you as my little secret.” He grinned as he pulled her onto his chest as he lay back onto the ground. ”I’ll take care of you.”
