Hattori was attracted by the sound of splashing water and snorts of frustration. It didn't take him long to find the culprit, a wild boar had somehow managed to get itself lodged between the roots of a mangrove tree and the tide was coming in. It didn't seem all that worried, perhaps not yet grasping the severity of the situation, but Hattori knew easy pickings when he saw them. Moving around unseen and unheard was a little difficult given the terrain but with careful footing he managed, slowly and surely inching forward till the boar was in clear view. He was a beastly thing with sharp tusks and a big belly, if he managed to bring it down he'd have more than enough to eat for the next few days. But given the circumstances he knew it'd be a tough fight, attacking it from behind just wasn't an option unless he wanted to smush himself between the mangroves. And given his own size and build Hattori wouldn't have been surprised if he went and got stuck as well.

Seeing at there was no rush Hattori took a moment to mull it over, just in time to see the boar start to wriggle and struggle again. Clearly very determined to get out of the mess it'd landed itself in.
