Káti propped the stick up with his paws and started chewing on the end to form a notch. He eyed the knife for a moment then adjusted the notch. Once that was done he grabbed his stick of pine pitch and started to heat the dark, sticky material over the communal fire. It didn't take long for the pitch to soften and as soon as it did he trotted back over to the stick. Propping the stick up again he dabbed the pitch on the notch, making sure it seeped into the crevices. Carefully setting the pine pitch aside Káti picked up the bone blade. Carefully he positioned it into the notch full of pitch and then held it together until it dried. There, that was one thing done, for now anyway.

Picking up the spear in his jaws Káti trotted over to a large rock. He carefully repositioned the spear in his mouth before he started rubbing the end of the spear against the rock so it would form a sharpened point. It took some doing but with a little persistence he soon had a basic spear.
