She was more big sister and granddaughter today than alpha. It felt good to kick back with the kids and seeing Rhythm come alive tending to them made her heart swell. Age only held you back as much as you let it, and while her body was evidently more frail - you could see it now in the hollows of her hips, the slight sway of her walk - her mind was as sharp as ever. There was still so much to learn from Rhythm and Theory was glad that her grandmother wasn't ready to succumb to life's gradual wear and tear. She was a fighter. "This feels so good, grandma! Oh, you won't believe it," Theory gushed. She doubled back towards Rhythm, tripping a bit over Ruin as she did. Theo chuckled to herself. In order to make up for her lack of size, she certainly was developing a larger than life personality. "Alright, alright, Roo - you can trip me, but not your gram. Careful where you weave!" Although the sun had begun to set, the air was still pleasant and balmy. "Ready to relax?" she said, walking shoulder to shoulder with Rhythm so that the woman might lean on her for support if she'd like. Once they reached the border just before the clearing she sat back and called for Resin to make sure their visit would be welcome. It was a necessary courtesy even though the invitation was sincere. One didn't go trekking across borders unwarranted. Pack relations were a careful dance of give and take. Diplomacy only got messy when a wolf couldn't (or wouldn't) keep their word. "Just a moment now and we'll get to sink into that lovely warm pool!" |
