Keep Me Guessing

Elise needed a distraction. She needed something or someone that might break the spell that was currently lingering on her mind, but it felt like everywhere she went she found herself pulled closer and closer to where she knew Iroh lived. It confused her more and more with each passing day and it almost became a game of avoiding him and his pack until the memories of their time together finally began to fade. As she was working her way along the Boreas shore, her sapphire eyes spotted an island out in the water and she wondered if that was finally her answer. Maybe if she isolated herself somewhere that he was surely not going to go then she could isolate herself long enough to forget about the tall, dark male. It was a fool's errand, but she'd try anything at this point. She took out across the water, thankful that it was at least in the heat of summer so the water was fairly mild. Of course she was drenched by the time she made it to the island, but that was no surprise. It was like catching a fish and noticing that it was wet. Of course it was, it came from the water. She climbed onto the sandy shore of the island and gave herself a good shake to get as much of the water as possible out of her coat. She stood there for a while, scanning the tree line and peeking the run down buildings that hid behind them. At the very least there would be plenty to explore and enough to keep her busy for a good long while. Maybe she could spend a couple of days out here before she went back to the mainland... but that would all depend on if she found anyone else out here. She got awfully bored and lonely very, very quickly so if this place was completely abandoned then she would rather just go back and continue to struggle with her own desires than stick around here. Her ivory paws carried her along the beach while she kept herself out in the sunlight so the warmth of it could dry her fur. Once she made the swim back to the main shore she would worry about washing the salt out of her coat and cleaning up, but since she knew the swim back would just make her messy again she didn't bother. Elise didn't notice the other wolf that was resting near the trees as she continued on her way, only stopping when she spotted a crab skittering across the sand a few feet ahead of her. She smirked a little and walked over to it, following the lines it left in the sand with its slender, spindly legs. It noticed her and turned to face her, stepping from side to side while snipping its claws in her direction. "Hey hey, little guy, don't get all worked up," she mumbled to the crab with a chuckle before realizing that she was talking to a crab and rolled her eyes at herself. Maybe she should just give in and go find Iroh again... at least then she wouldn't be so bored all the time. WC: 874 |
