The sound of paws against the sand pulled her attention up and away from her side-walking crustacean and instead bringing her eyes to land on a lovely dark brown and black woman that was heading straight for her. Her blue eyes looked at the woman curiously and the playful jab at her interactions with the crab brought an amused grin to her lips. What felt like subtle flirting in the second part of her quips caught Elise's attention and the red-headed wolf raised an intrigued brow at the other wolf. "Hm, I don't know... I can be awfully... crabby," she joked, pulling a laugh from herself at her own bad joke, clearly unbothered by the teasing that the wolf had given her at the start. She liked anyone that could be clever with their greetings and words and so far she wasn't disappointed.

Elise found herself grinning just as much in return with a similar cheeky, amused expression. What had started feeling like a sad attempt to escape her own thoughts was quickly changing back into what might be a very interesting time. If there had been any question about if the woman was flirting with her before, it was easily confirmed when she was specifically pointed out as a bright point in this trip to the island. She grin grew a bit more sly and she tipped her head toward the beach ahead of them. "It's like you were reading my mind," she said in return with a soft chuckle before resuming her walk along the shore with the very noticeable added benefit and addition of attractive company.

"I'm Elise, by the way," she added to finish off the proper part of her introduction, flashing the stranger with a quick glance and another grin as she added, "A pleasure to meet you." The island was surprisingly quiet with just the sound of the waves and the occasional caw of a seagull or some other bird in the trees to break up the quiet. At least the beach was pretty and she was still curious about the ruins that were hiding within the trees, but she was far more interested in her surprise company than she was the island itself. She passed a seashell that was partially buried in the sand and paused just long enough to flick it with her paw and send it toward the water, watching as it landed a few feet form where it started.
