Normally, she would have been cozied up and curled about herself in the den. She had never really been one to rise with the sun, but the motions of pack life seemed to be pulling her waking hours closer and closer to sunrise. Something had been bothering her, and the witch hadn't been able to quite pin down what was going on, not until this morning. It had been yet another failed breakfast, Ulric had been so sweet in his worry over Aza, even getting her favorite meal! The monochrome lady knew something was wrong when she hadn't been able to even keep down pheasant! It had been enough that she wanted to seek a healer that was maybe more skilled than she was, she simply couldn't pin down her symptoms. Azariah had never experienced anything like this before, and while she had been around a pregnant wolf or two, she had never bothered to ask what the signs were. The nausea and aversion to foods that she normally loved were enough to cause alarm, coupled with the fact that her sense of smell seemed to increase dramatically - she would swear she could smell the water from the ocean - the witch had been scared! She was almost always tired and slept for long periods of time, her hips seemed to ache deep in her bones, and she had noticed herself nearly getting a temper with Ulric - though this change wouldn't have come out to be viewed openly. It was more a sense of impatience, like something really great was going to happen.
When she sought help, she found it in the dark female called Tamsyn, Resin's mate. After she had told the other woman, Tam had just laughed and reassured Aza that nothing was wrong with her. The suggestion that she could be pregnant made her head spin. Could she even get pregnant? Lucifer had tried over and over again to get her in such a condition to no avail, could it be that her body knew he was a threat? All this time she had thought herself to be barren, it would be a miracle if she was to have Ulric's brood growing inside her! As if in answer, a swarm of butterflies fluttered vigorously in the pit of her stomach, making her smile outwardly as she sat by the den mouth waiting for her soon-to-be-husband. He did not keep her waiting long, and brought with him another attempt at food. Remaining seated, she danced her front paws slightly against the earth and gave a wide smile at his concerned question. "Love, I am over the moon with just how good I feel. I found out what's ailing me!" Ever one for a dramatic reveal, Aza simply grew quiet and kept that wide grin plastered on her alabaster face. Ruby eyes glittered and grew misty as she eagerly awaited his inevitable question of what was making her feel so wretched. It was funny, now that she knew, she didn't feel sick at all!
