Maybe He Fell In

Káti gathered the leather strands he was keeping in his travois and settled back down to work. He started at the bottom, threading the leather cordage through the bottom holes then crisscrossing his way up, alternating the holes on either side to form an 'x' like pattern of lacing. Once he got to the top he tied a little knot at each end of the strand to prevent them slipping back out. Next Káti set the pouch in front of himself and placed a piece of the leather cord on either side of the pouch. Picking up one of the leather strands he tied a knot in one end then repeated the process with the other. He then threaded the leather through and then tied and sealed another knot to make sure the cord didn't slip through and cause him to lose the pouch. He pulled the leather cords tight so that the leather pouch formed more of a pouch than a flat piece.
"No, I'm not seeing anyone. I don't know that I'll fall for anyone really. There was someone… a long while back but I didn't realize she felt for me til it was too late." Káti started to put his things away, making it clear he was done with this subject of conversation.
