Azariah

Ulric waited expectantly for her answer, only to be given a riddle of sorts. Of course he should have expected such a thing - Azariah was certainly once for theatrics. One plus one equaling three? The reality still felt so impossible that it still took a moment for the answer to come to him, but when it did his eyes widened with disbelief and he gaped at his fiancé though his lips were still pulled up into a huge, joyful grin. He couldn't find the words to ask the question to confirm that's what she meant, but luckily he didn't have to. She did ti for him, telling him that they were going to be parents. That word resounded in his head and he had a hard time believing that she was telling the truth. Parents! Once that initial shock faded a bit he let out a giddy laugh, his heavy tail thumping against the ground as his heart felt like it had soared into the sky with how happy she had made him. He'd almost given up the hope of ever finding someone to love before he met Azariah and the idea of having a family had been just a hint of a dream that being with her had begun to rekindle. He hadn't thought that this would actually happen for quite a while still since he had been so focused on their other dreams for the future, but now it was real and he was over the moon. He reached out with a large forelimb to scoop her up and hold her tight to his chest, pressing his lips to hers in a passionate, lingering kiss. He couldn't find the right words to describe how happy he was and how much of a gift she was to him so he just showered her in affection and love instead, letting his actions speak where his words failed him. When he pulled back again from their kiss, he grinned down at her once more. He felt a stinging in his eyes as happy, overwhelmed tears threatened to collect in his silver gaze that he tried to quickly blink them away with a soft chuckle. He brushed a large paw gently against her cheek as he whispered, "We're going to be parents?! He repeated the statement he had told her just to make absolutely certain that his mind wasn't playing tricks on him and that this was actually real. |
