Shilah was panting heavily now as he worked to keep up with Lynvarr. His paws were starting to hurt and he could feel the strain in his ankles as he worked to keep his balance over jagged rocks and loose soil. The wind was picking up now and he pinned his ears to his head to help keep them warm as the duo marched on. He let out a sigh of relief as they started to head south. At least now the wind was at their backs. When Lynvarr stopped to mark the little tree he joined suit, feeling sorry for wounding it. He had heard of ways to dye hide and also to make cloth from plant fibers. Perhaps he ought to look into this more. A colorful piece of fabric would make for a suitable trail marker without needing to wound a tree or rely on another system of marking. He chuckled to himself. Well, he could always lift a leg if needed. That was an efficient method but he was a bit too dehydrated now.
