Kotori had slept deeply after the prior days’ excitement, once he was close to waking up he was full of dreams of yesterday's adventures, showing it with all his growls, and kicking legs, lip twitching, and a whole array of motions. Once awake he was quick to want to play and soon enough had found Briar and challenge her for a race to the water's edge.

Where exactly was the finishing line? If it was the water itself then he defeated himself, skidding to a stop in the sand as he spotted a strange creature moving along. The weird thing was moving sideways, it's flat like body with thin legs moving him along, and weird claw-like pincers upfront. “hey hey Briar, looky!” Kotor circled the strange creature, which seemed to be ignoring him, and continued its sideways walk. “It’s funny looking.” He’d remember the race later, and of course claim he would have won if not for his important find.
