Wyndelin kept working on the braid, crossing strands as he worked. The hard part was pulling the braid tight. If Flikkr were here the bird could help with that but he was companionless, for the time being at least. So Wyndelin just kept working til he reached the end. Pinning the braid with one paw he used his fangs and his other paw to tie off the braid.

Wyndelin returned to the stump and worked more at the bark until finally he was able to pull the bark off in a rough rectangular shape. It would make a lovely piece to work on. Wynd set the bark between his paws and worked on cleaning up some of the edges. Once everything was set he set the bark aside to let it finish drying and curing.
