When he eventually did see Lurid appear from around an outcropping of the dark igneous rock formations, his smile widened in greeting, jet black eyes shimmering with anticipation. She stopped a few feet away, complimenting him on his choice of arena. "Why, thank you!" he remarked, rising to his large paws and giving a quick shake to release the obsidian sand from his fur. He stretched and rolled his shoulders to pop the joints, loosening up his body in preparation for what was to come. He was not mad at Lurid for her earlier display of dominance, nor did he harbor a grudge against her. He was, however, going to show his alpha just why no wolf ever forced him into submission. "Before we begin, I want you to know..." he said, stretching his neck to pop his vertebrae in a similar fashion to his shoulders, ""...I take great pleasure in this..." He fixed Lurid with one last wide grin, and then the dire wolf kicked off of the sand.
Alastor launched into combat like a rocket, fangs bared in a macabre smile with black eyes narrowed and focused on his opponent. He lunged for Lurid, attempting to wrap his jaws around one of her forelegs. If he succeeded, he would move to pull her down to the sand in a bold opening attack. His ears folded to his skull, snarls rumbling in his throat. If she leaped upward to avoid him, Alastor would kick back off the sandy ground, aiming to bring his thickened skull up into her jaw in a brutal headbutt. He wanted to remind Lurid how he fought: fast, hard, relentless. If she had been keeping up with her training, the two should still be evenly matched. If she hadn't, he was going to teach her very quickly why she should have been.
