“We are not,” Rudy indignantly called back at Art.  Even if anyone tried to sell him on them being late the grey coated pup would deny it.  Nope, fashionably on time is what it would be considered now.  Rudy knew without a doubt he would be great some day.  He would learn one skill then another and so on.  Mom-Resin had even said she could teach him about being a leader, proof that he was meant to be amazing.

Art had been smart this time, as Rudy followed behind he noticed Art wasn’t letting him get in range for another surprise attack.  That was fine, there was no point in pouncing when the other pup was expecting it.  The fun was in the surprise and Arty wouldn’t be watching for it all the time.  A small malicious smile was on Rudyard’s face as he imagined how fun it would be the next time he surprised his brother.

Rudy was of course thrilled for a fight lesson as well.  The pup was thinking of focusing more on hunting and spying but it was still important he find time to be an amazing fighter as well.  Both for supporting his brother and to make sure Art could never beat him in a scuffle.  Not that Rudyard planned to ever tell Art he found it important to support him in the field he had chosen for himself. Rudy didn’t want to show he had a soft side for anyone, it wasn’t cool-sounding enough.

When they got there he followed along with Art to walk up and look towards the wolf who in theory would be training them.  Hm, large and muscular which Rudy imagined was a good sign for his being a tough fighter.  “I’m Rudy,” the grey-toned pup chimed in after his brother, then glancing at Art, “Of course he is, mom wouldn’t send us to someone who only teaches to be the second-best.” Then glancing back up at Duncan, “Right?”
