Skadi was sneaking a little far from the den but it was fine, really. She'd be back before anyone noticed. It wasn't like she'd done it on purpose, anyway. Not her fault some of the young owls were downright mean. Skuggi had taken to hiding in the trees and leaping out suddenly to swoop down on her. Now that she knew she could pick the pup up she'd do that too - just pick her up and drop her quickly. A chase of that nature was what had led Skadi so far away. The owl had gotten her good once and then the chase was on. She did everything in her power to avoid open ground. Darting from bush to bush and tree to tree had stymied most of Skuggi's efforts to nab her. Somehow during all that chasing they'd ended up in the Range. It was an honest mistake, honest! ...But now that she was here...
She spied an older boy doing something and after checking the skies to make sure that rude owl was gone, Skadi padded over to him. The tot didn't have the sense to be cautious or shy and boldly marched up to Ulfr. "What are you doing, Boy?" She wasn't asking rudely, she just didn't know his name and in the absence of that she defaulted to what she knew. He was a boy so until told otherwise he was just going to be Boy in her head. She stepped up to the fire and leaned out to try to sniff the meat. Luckily her mother had taught her about fire so she didn't immediately singe her whiskers, but she did get close enough to make anyone watchful nervous. Had her mother been there she'd have been snatched away. "Why are you burning it? Doesn't that make it yucky?"
