Coran had stopped in his practiced fighting maneuvers when he heard mom’s call. This would be perfect! Coran was a cream blur as he rushed to try and be the first to reach mom. He found himself a bit behind Kaija who was also racing to get there. Coran tried to pick up his pace but he couldn’t manage it well enough. He arrived about 30 seconds after her. He wasn’t surprised to see Ardyn there and next to mom.
“You beat me,” he said to Kaija playfully, even if she hadn’t known there was a race that had taken place. He gave her a small wink to the slightly younger pup before moving onward to where Ardyn was, “you look like a mess,” offered quietly with a bit of mirth, “I guess we’ll just have to take it easy on you today?” There was no way Coran could imagine Ardyn ever wanting that, it was just to poke fun at him. Coran wished he could have been there to help in the fight. Coran hadn’t seen it but it must have been thrilling. Ardyn was lucky, both for getting such a fight and for surviving it.
Happy eyes looked up towards his mom. Coran imagined he wouldn’t be looking up to her much longer, the pup could practically feel how fast his body was growing. Still, Ardyn was getting bigger than him every day and clearly was going to get massive. Coran hoped that getting bigger was also proof of getting more mature for more freedom and responsibility. Each day he felt stronger and surely mom and dad saw it too. “Hi mom,” a friendly greeting even as his eyes would then scan for who else would be coming.
