All in the family

The boy bumped his mom’s shoulder playfully as they traveled, though he was careful not to displace his teeny tiny sister from her back. Haiku and Senryu were growing like literal weeds. The boys were shooting up and towering over the sisters now and Samara was next. Haiku often wondered if he’d manage to get taller than his dad. That thought was far and away from him, the excitement of their trip was now boiling over. Though he was tired from the trip his enthusiasm was untamable.

Finally they arrived at the Ashen pack, where they would find more of their family. Their dad mentioned lots of family out there, but this was their mom’s extended family. Haiku bounced next to his mother, and wouldn’t be settled even as she gave them a stern warning about behavior. His excitement would manifest as their mother called for the pack and the boy joined his voice to hers.
