Getting this far east had been a task in and of itself, but now that he was here Hattori was free once again to hunt. At first glance the Rock Garden didn't appear to be a good place for it, the terrain was craggy and littered with stones of all shapes and sizes, but Hattori saw opportunity when other's may have written it off as a waste of time. The mountain loomed in the distance and with winter approaching he knew the ibex that called it home would have started their descent to lower, flatter terrain. Sure enough, as he treaded over the rocky ground it didn't take him long to track down  signs of ibex activity, hoof prints and droppings strewn all over the place and as Hattori scanned the horizon he saw a flicker of movement in the distance. A small herd of four or five individuals, all grouped tightly together as they picked at the short grass.

Now that he'd tracked them down he paused and squatted low to remain out of sight just behind one of the larger rocks that littered the land. Approaching without being seen would be difficult and he knew a long distance chase on his sort of terrain was less than ideal. The last thing he wanted was to limp back to Ashen cause he tripped on a rock.
