Be Not Afraid of Monsters
Alastor

As senses began to return to him, Alastor collapsed to his back on the cool stone of the cave floor with a heavy exhale, going to pull Lurid along with him so she could stretch out across his chest. His chest rose and fell with every deep and rapid breath as the brute tried to catch his breath, a wide, satisfied grin on the man's face. All of his body was still numb with the lingering tingles of pleasure from their coupling, and he was sure he had more than a few scratches and battle wounds somewhere on his body, though he couldn't feel any of them right now. Alastor chuckled breathlessly, staring into space while his head spun in the post-coital bliss, his large black paw going to stroke up and down his betrothed's back while he just basked in the afterglow, listening to the sounds of their breathing in the otherwise perfect darkness. The silvery moonlight from outside shone in through the mouth of the cave, providing just enough light for Alastor's obsidian eyes to find the glistening outline of Lurid's form while his simply blended into the night. For a long while, he just lay there, listening to her catch her breath, feeling her weight against him, the softness of her fur under his paws, and ruminating on the ramifications of what they had just done together.
Lurid was now his in every sense of the word. He was now hers in every conceivable manner. They had both broken and created new tenets of the Amarix rituals and traditions together and bound themselves to one another in body, mind, and spirit. All earlier doubts and concerns about himself and his future with Lurid had all but been forgotten at this point. Damned be any curse that kept him from the beautiful queen that reigned over his abysmal heart. "You are so amazing, Lu Lu..." he finally gathered himself up enough to murmur to her in the dark, his voice husky and barely above a whisper. He chuckled darkly as a twinge of twisted humor passed through his mind. "I hope your ancestors won't be too pissed at me for ruining their traditions..." He would lean over then to place a long, slow lick across his alabaster queen's forehead, wanting nothing more than to enjoy being with her and only her in this moment. Lurid had become his world, his life, his happiness.
Happiness. True, genuine happiness. It was a concept that Alastor had never known as intimately as this moment. In this one moment, Alastor felt... normal. It was a strange, foreign feeling, and it almost felt like being high. It was a funny feeling and made the dark brute feel as giddy as an excited puppy. Abandoning his duties to guard the rest of Lurid's pack to come and find her had absolutely been one of the best decisions of his life.
