He waited, mildly uneasy, for Alfrun's response. Jupiter was so far outside his comfort zone he was at a loss over how to behave. He rarely had to put so much thought into anything because the consequences were never an issue. It was easy to shrug his shoulders and accept whatever came his way. He didn't care what anyone thought about him or how little they expected. With few exceptions all the mattered was what he wanted in the moment. Until now anyway. His family was the biggest part of his 'exceptions' and they kind of tangled around this whole marriage thing. So he had to care about Alfrun's thoughts and feelings because her happiness - or at the very least her well being - was integral to making this damn thing work. Hopefully he didn't have to keep it up forever because this paying attention to someone else thing was fucking hard.

She rose up out of the den like a tiny little wraith and greeted him somewhat formally, which further underscored the awkwardness of the situation in his mind. "Good day, Alfrun," he returned, feeling dumb and ineffective all the while. Jupiter stood there lamely unsure of what to do with himself and more importantly his eyes as Alfrun moved in front of him. As expected he was forced to meet her gaze which furthered his discomfort because it was clear that was what she was after. The need to be good and thus ignore his tendency to be capricious and contrary left him feeling disadvantaged against what felt like an agenda.

Jupiter cleared his throat. "Of course," he said while absently patting the hoof. "That's actually what I was hoping for. Give us a chance to talk, you know." Get to know one another, maybe be less awkward. God he hoped something came after this awkwardness.
