Chimera had been stalking the injured deer for some time. It limped along, a big tear in its hind quarter from his own teeth. He knew that he couldn't bring down a deer alone, but he knew that he had more stamina. If he injured it, let it bleed out and followed it, he'd surely be able to bring it down eventually, right?

The black and white dire boy followed his future meal to a stream where it bent its head and began to drink. Hmm, maybe he could drown it. As Chimera's muscled tensed to spring and run for the deer, another huge form rushed from the foliage. A lion slammed into the injured doe, mashing it to the ground. Anger surged through the big boy and he continued forward, sinking his teeth into the haunch of the big cat. With the deer bleeding out into the stream, the lioness turned and took a swipe at Chimera who just barely avoided the claws. He was pissed. This cat was not getting his meal. Not if he could help it, anyway.
