I Swear I'm Not a Monster

She was lost in more sense than one. Lirim was no longer a thing. Her father was gone. She had drifted apart from her brother and whatever family she had left. She never found the man she had started falling in love with. She was mess. And now, she was walking the edge of a land she didn't know but had heard about. The moon was high in the sky, painting the ground a surreal shade of gray and silver as shadows danced across the ground. Fog had rolled in from the nearby forest, limiting her vision even further. She hadn't eaten yet today, but she was too tired to hunt. All she wanted to do at the moment was try to find a safe place to rest for a few hours at least, before finally deciding what she wanted to do.
That was another problem in itself. She was born in Lirim and had lived there her entire life. Now that it didn't exist, where else did she go? She didn't really know any other packs other than Valhalla, but she was afraid to face her brother. She had taken her fathers death pretty hard, and she still felt heartbroken over it. She hadn't spoken to Torin since, and she had nothing but guilt looming over her. Maybe starting fresh somewhere else would help...but she didn't know where to go for that...
Feeling tired, she stumbled along until she swore she heard the snap of a twig and the familiar sound of wings in the air. Her head perked as she stopped mid-stride, bi-colored gaze staring into the darkness that bordered the forest. "Wh-who's there?!"
