When walking in the forest, there were always reasons to be cautious, and through the many years that had been bestowed upon the little brown wolf, she had learned many things, ways, tricks to survive the forest even in the darkest hours. She walked heavy, a dark cloak lining the small canines back as she moved threw the underbrush that had grown in the path before her. The forest was vast, larger than anything else known to the female, IT was here long before her and would be here long after she was gone. She had simple rules to live by, how she kept herself for so long. The small black bird that flew overhead for miles had finally decided to decend onto the haunches of the blind wolf as she walked on, perching on the length of her spine. Her ears tattered ears flicked as her lips parted speaking back to no one, maybe just even the bird, “The rules are simple little one, to survive walking in the forest; Never turn around to check behind you, You’ll see nothing. But once you start doing it You won’t be able to stop. If you stand very still and listen, you will hear the woods calling for you, Don’t answer. Never answer. You will here things quietly following you, Hidden in the trees, running by your sides, it’s okay. They’re just checking on you. Don’t be scared little one, be weary” Her steps were heavy on the dark earth as she continued on, avoiding the blurs of hanging ivy and shrubs that hung in her way. Simply nudging them out of the way, paying little to no attention to the bird hat sat upon her back for the free ride, even the free lesson. She wouldn’t have noticed even if someone had started to follow, her sore and aching limbs that burned for rest moving on autopilot threw the uneven covered terrain. “If you have a bad feeling about taking a certain path, don’t take it. You’ll want to avoid whatever’s waiting for you at the end of it. Youll never know what may be buried under the soil your walking in. remember that every time you take a step Pray that whatever it is, you don’t wake it. Make sure to remember the way back home always. As soon as you get lost you’re just another piece of fresh meat.” "tell me what you know?" |
